Important use instructions:

  • What are the directions for use of the appliance?

    The suction pump can be used either for tracheostomy or as a breast pump (using the suitable breast cup provided separately).
     
  • How can I use the suction pump for tracheostomy?

    Connect the plastic joint (4) to the end of the longer tube (3). Apply the tracheal probe (sold at the chemist's) to the plastic joint (4). To manually limit or stop the suction force act with the finger on the hole (C) of the collecting bowl (2).



     
  • How can I use the suction pump as a breast pump?

    To use the appliance as a breast pump it is necessary to clean the breast pump cup (6) provided separately as described in the user manual of the product, connect to the end of the tube (3) the breast pump cup (6) in the point (E). Insert the small pierced top provided (5) into the hole (C) of the top of the collecting bowl (2). Verify that the pierced top (5) is not obstructed. The blocking of the hole, sinse it increase the suction force, can cause injury. To manually limit the suction force and simulate the feeding of the child, act with the finger intermittently on the hole (D) of the breast pump cup (6).


     
     
  • Is it possible to use the appliance without connecting the collecting bowl (2), therefore directly connecting the breast pump cup (6), provided separately, or other accessories to the appliance?

    No, it isn't. Not using the collecting bowl (2) can cause irreparable damage to the suction pump. The collecting bowl (2) prevents suctioned liquids from getting into the engine therefore damaging it.
  • The appliance works but the suction has stopped.

    The collecting bowl integrates a device that halts the suction when the bowl is full to prevent the appliance to be damaged. In case of intervention of the "full valve", empty the collecting bowl as described in the user manual. Verify that all the tubes are correctly connected, not blocked or filled by fluids.
  • What is the function of the small pierced top provided with the appliance?

    The small pierced top is applyed to the collecting bowl when the appliance is used ad a brest pump. Its function is to limit the suction force to the limitations imposed by the norms in force to prevent injuries. Be careful that the top is not obstructed by dust or else.
     
  • What is the function of the plastic tip provided with the appliance?

    The plastic tip is used to connect the suction tube with the standard tracheal probes, sold at the chemist's, when the appliance is used for the therapy of tracheostomized patients.
     
  • The collecting bowl has two joints, can I connect indifferently the tubes to one or the other?

    It is essential that the tube coming from the suction nozzle of the appliance is connected exclusively to the nozzle (A) as indicated on the top of the collecting bowl. This becouse that nozzle is protected with a "full valve" that prevents liquids from entering the pump. Don't invert the joints to prevent the appliance to get damaged.
     
  • How can I dispose of the suctioned liquid?

    The suctioned liquids can be the root of bacterial (or other types of) contaminations. It is therefore recommended to dispose of those liquids wisely by wearing protective gloves. After the operation of disposal clean carefully the collecting bowl and all the accessories.
     
  • How long the suctioned milk can be preserved?

    At room themperature breast milk perish quickly, therefore it must be kept in the fridge where it can be preserved for 2 or 3 days. Anyway, it is suggested to consume it as soon as possible.
